The Business Book Awards celebrate leadership, change and sustainability in business. The hand selected shortlist of business books share the very best in industry knowledge and experience. Having worked in the HR management consulting and software industry for over 30 years, I am very happy to be recognised as an author alongside my fellow industry leaders.
More so, I am delighted to see Solving the Productivity Puzzle on the shortlist. It is great to see the book achieve this level of attention, as it is more important than ever that we think and do differently to create engaging workplaces where people flourish and innovate.
The world economy is going to have to quickly get back on its feet to ensure a level of prosperity for everyone and solving the challenge of declining people productivity is the key to creating a high performing global economy that works for all.
Indeed, Solving the Productivity Puzzle has been nominated alongside some fantastic HR books in the HR and Management category, such as The Energised Workplace: Designing Organisations where People Flourish and Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace: A Practical Guide for Employers and Employees.
However, I encourage you to also take a look at the books in some of their other categories such as Change and Sustainability, Leadership for the Future and Diversity, Inclusion and Equality.
As I demonstrate in Solving the Productivity Puzzle, transformative HR operating models are created when the HR department work collaboratively with the business as a whole to drive change. The diverse line up of the Business Book Awards categories and nominations celebrates this multi-faceted approach to business.
With the line-up announced last night, the nominations will now go through a rigorous and high-quality judging process where the judges will read, analyse and whittle down the nominations until they have selected a winner for each category. The judges include industry leaders such as Sue Ingram and Jacqui Mann and publishing experts such as head judge, Alison Jones.
The winners will be announced on Tuesday 25th May at the virtual awards ceremony. I’m looking forward to attending and celebrating the very best in business alongside the other nominees. It is truly fantastic to have a night dedicated to celebrating the business books that are helping to inspire fellow entrepreneurs, consultants and directors and transforming the world of work.
Big thanks to the Business Book Awards’ judging panel for shortlisting Solving the Productivity Puzzle and to Kogan Page for publishing mine and all the other stellar HR books recognised at this year’s awards.
